Default What to Do With Polk R15??

First off I I am a total noob when it comes to audio/ Home theater. This is my first post, but have been reading these forums for a while and have learned a lot, so I thank you.

I am putting together my first surround sound, which can't be too big because I live in an apartment . I have a pair of Polk R15's I want to use in the set up and was wondering where I should have them located. I just ordered a pair of Polk Monitor 60's and a cs2 center. Should I use the R15 for left and right surrounds or rear surrounds in a 7.1 set up? I will need to order two more speakers(down the road) for the set up and was looking @ the Monitor 40's for sides then using R15 for the rear. Would the M60's, cs2, and M40 drown out the R15's? BTW I am using an Onkyo 705 receiver if that matters. Thanks in advance.

We're talking surrounds here, which certainly don't have to match. I think they'll be fine. Just run an autocal if your system has one and you'll probably be good. Best part is that if they're not, you can turn around and upgrade later.

I would use them as the surrounds in a 5.1 system. If you like what you hear you can add a second pair down the line. I would not recommend to mix them with some Monitor 40's as you're probably going to get some sound differentiation between them.

To sum up-
1. Keep 'em. If you like them add two more for a 7.1 system should you decide to go that route. (Another route would be to leave them as 5.1 and bi-amp your M-60's).

2. If you don't like them get some M-40's or 50's as surrounds in a 5.1 or 7.1 configuration and sell your R-15's.
