Default Well I need Help !!!!!

All my old kit has gone, and instead i have this:

One Hitachi PD9700 42" Plasma
One Pioneer 1018AH
Sky +
And an Sony S550 on the way

And heres where i need the help, i run all this lot through Gale 4020 fronts with matching Center and Mission M3DS rears (Very Old) and Old Vibe Alpha II 200watt active sub.

I will soon be upgrading the speakers, but what to?

The sub is set in stone and will be the BK Monilith sub.

But so far im stuck on speakers, i have been recomended Audio Pro Mondial gear, but have looked at Warfdale Diamnond and Tannoy Mercury

And again love the Tannoy Arena speakers, and the JBL L series, the big prob with the JBL is that there rated at 8 Ohms but on tests they out put 3/4 Ohms and i have an 8 ohm amp. so what do i do? where do i go from here?

I'd get the ones that sound the best to you...... many here don't have easy access to Tannoys etc... I've heard a couple from their line at a local shop, and think they sounded great.

I've never been a fan of JBL, but you are, so that's the proof that audio is very subjective!

Nice choice in Subwoofers, you'll surely be happy with that.

The Warf's are nice too.... been a LONG time since I've heard some though.

Over here in the Uk we dont get many retailers where you can go and sample speakers, its all internet buying here, as most people are happy with a sony/pioneer/panasonic all in one system at the £250-£350 price point and thats sub/speakers/dvd, the lot all in a box. never had a listen to JBL and there not reviewed over here but the reviews online about the Ohm drop puts me off a little.

The Gale's we have get really poor reviews, and im worred that going from a standard speaker box system with the silk dome tweeter and 5" deiver, to a small box Tannoy arena with 4" drivers but a much better review and alloy construction.

And then there is the Sensitivity of speakers mine quote 90db form the factory but agin with the JBL set they quote 90/91 db but after independent tests show 85/88 db sensitivity? is this how all speakers are? or do some of them bend the truth? and more often than not all but the most £££ speakers have 85/88db??

Sensitivity numbers aren't the most important spec to look at.....

give the choices, I'd go with the Tannoys
