Default Can Marvel Keep IT Togethere....

Ok..by now most of us have seen Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk both of them were excellent movies. With all the success that Marvel is having with there movies now do you think they can keep it together and not rush things so to speak.

They have a release date set for Iron Man 2 yet no script maybe no director do you think there success will come back and bite them in the ass.

We all remember Daredevil, Electra,FF4...

What do you guys and gal think.

One really can't say at this point. In my opinion, The Incredible Hulk needs one more strong week at the box office - which I firmly believe it will get.

After that, it really comes down to how they want to set things up for The Avengers movie. Ant-Man, Thor, and Captain America are apparently in development so it really depends on the success of those movies. If the studio is able to retain all of the cast (Robert Downey Jr., Ed Norton, etc.) then I don't see how The Avengers could fail. That being said, I think Marvel may have lost Edward Norton over this whole screenplay debacle...

Only time will tell.

Many MANY people have stated over and OVER again that the 'screenplay debacle' was overblown.

Just a bunch of rumors on the internet by busybodies that have nothing better to do with their time other than to say that the Hulk will tank.

I agree that the rumors were overblown, but the director recently confirmed that Marvel pulled a fast one on Norton. Long story short: he agreed to do the film under the impression he would be involved in a rewrite of the screenplay. This seemed like a fairly credible source when I came across it yesterday.

http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/06/14/...ton-vs-marvel/

Completely true or not, there's something to it. Now we'll just have to wait and see if it effects Norton's decision to sign on for the follow-up.

And, for the record, I loved this film. I was excited about it the moment I heard Ed Norton was cast in the starring role. I would love nothing more than seeing these movies continue to succeed for Marvel so we can continue to see great movies in return.

I predict consistently good releases now that we have Marvel Studios. I'll be more concerned about Marvel and it's movies after Stan Lee passes on.

Edward Norton DID rewrite the film. If you paid attention to the credits, it said Edward Harrison. Either the WGA didn't allow him to get full credit or he didn't want any.

There are still things that he wrote that made it to the film. If you study it as a more emotional movie, you can see those scenes.

Back on topic, it's WAY TOO EARLY to predict anything about Marvel Studios. It, like any other big or small Hollywood studios do not have the recipe for a hit movie down pat. It's still about the story, the execution of the movie, the readiness of the public and the timing of release. Look at Pixar.

Default now they just need a Blade 4

Wesley needs the money and Marvel is hot right now. Perfect time for a Blade 4 (hopefully not like trinity, they need to focus more on Blade)

The OP raises an interesting question. Marvel is very interested in protecting and promoting their assets. As we have witnessed in Hulk and Iron Man the studio is putting forth tremendous cinematic efforts. Who do I trust to make the best decisions Marvel or the studios...Humm, think I will go with Marvel on that one.

HE IS ON BAIL AND APPEALING. IT COULD BE UP TO THREE YEARS BEFORE THE APPEAL IS HEARD.

Still a PR nightmare and he is not someone a film studio would bank on since he is for all intents and purposes at the whim of the judicial system. What if they were filming and his appeal was scheduled?

He will need to get this settled, do his time (if necessary), and then rehab his image like Robert Downey Jr. did...

Do you even know what Wasp looks like?

Furthermore, Pitt as Thor?

I'd rather see someone who actually looks like Thor play Thor, Pitt is too pretty to play Thor.
