Well even though they are golf, they are very different. Hot Shots Golf is cartoony and more easy going, and Tiger Woods is a bit more "serious". Hot Shots is not slouching by any means; I'm actually not sure how to best describe it, maybe someone else can.

In short, Tiger Woods is for the more serious golfer (who wants to play a video game) and Hot Shots Golf is probably more for "everyone".

I have played both, several versions of Tiger Woods and 2 versions of Hot Shots. I am an avid "real" golfer with a 10 handicap, and I can say without a doubt, Hot Shots is a much better game. If you're looking for realistic "actual" courses to play, Pebble, Shinnocock Hills, and real pro golfers to play, then buy tiger. But for just plain fun aspect go with hot shots

I tried both demos, and I was hooked on Tiger 08. i have played the 3 hole demo about 50 times in the last day and a half. Hot shots was...to kiddy, so i guess if you like realism and true difficulty Tiger is the one to go with, butfor family entertainment the Hot Shots would probably bring the competition out in the little ones , there are add-ons to Tiger, hopefully good ones? I will be getting the Tiger. I am not a golfer, but i like the video game version. I cant hit a ball straight to save my life in real golf (I have tried and i have an incurable slice of gigantic proportions).

I am a Tiger Woods PGA addict. Love that game.

I downloaded the demo of Hot Shots and goofed around with it a bit. It does seem like a lot of fun and the graphics are excellent.

I like the way you swing better in Tiger though. As stated above, it is more of a realistic golf simulator.

Id wait for Tiger 09 to come out. Also, i did see that, i think its K-mart, if you can find one or maybe online is selling all 2007 sports games for $5, including Tiger 07. Id go with tiger over Hot Shots, more realistic in my book.

Hot Shots, it blows away Tiger, I love the hitting system.. and for those who say realistic, they are only meaning real players and courses, quite honestley the shots I find are more realistic in Hot Shots.. it is no sloutch.. wind, lie, club, power, spin, all factored in.. oh and a great online system.. with tournments running every 15 minutes..

I've only seen three add-ons: a course for free, a course for $$$, and the option to max out your character for $$$.
