Default Does LG GGC-H20L support BD-Live?

I am trying to figure out if my combination supports BD-Live on a PC.

My config is:
Quad Core 2.6 procs
4GB ram
Geforce 8800GT
Vista w/SP1
LG GGC-H20L BD-drive (v1.02 firmware)
PowerDVD 8 Ultra - full version

I recently bought the MIB BD DVD with BD-live features and when running it on this system, Cyberlink reports an error that my drive does not support BD-live.

Can anyone confirm this?

If so--how can I get BD-live support on a PC?

Thanks in advance.
Mark

Update your PowerDVD 8 you should be good to go. PowerDVD 8 Ultra, WinDVD 9 Plus BD, and Total Media Theatre all support BD-Live (Profile 2.0) - what type of internet connection do you have?

Thanks - I have applied the Power DVD 8 patch. Now the software reports that the "player" is not connected to the internet. It obviously is - as I am able to browse, etc.

Are there some Vista firewall settings that have to get set or changed to allow BD-live to use the internet connection on Vista?

Thanks a ton.

Turn off you anti-virus (such as norton security ect.) If you have spy-bot (tea timer) running in the backround - disable it. And you are right, check all of your firewall settings.

Thanks--I have tried turning off the FW and anti-virus, including stopping all related services. I do not have spy bot running - so no tea timer.

Still - I get the error to ensure that the "player" is connected to the internet.

Any other thoughts? I am running out of ideas.

Thanks a ton.

one more bit of info - I bought WinDVD 9 to try this software--when I just try to load the BD-disk, the player reports that there is a mismatch between the disk and the drive region codes--and never even loads the disk.

wierd...

any ideas?

Sorry to say that trial-ware of Windvd 9 doesn't playback BD only the full purchased version.

I actually have bought both WinDVD 9 and PowerDVD 8.

It is wierd - BD-live works on my "The 6th Day" BD-DVD using PowerDVD, but not on WinDVD.

I tried Men in Black - and I get the "player is connected to the internet" error using PowerDVD and the mismatch of the region codes using WinDVD.

I also tried Rambo - and BD-live sort of worked using PowerDVD. Then crashed.

Wierd stuff--nice and unreliable.
