Default Ban on Target 5 Dollar Off coupons

Just as an FYI about those 5 dollar off coupons for Target.
I have not confirmed that this is store wide or just a local thing for my store, but as of tomorrow any of those coupons that come through will be denied through the POS system at Target. This is due to some douche bag totally abusing the system by editing the coupon in photoshop to remove the "Toy Purchase" part and just having it say off 25 dollars. So just as a heads up for people that had used some or were going to use some they most likely wont be working anymore because of the fraud that had gone on with it.

Behold the power of the internet! All those millions of dollars spent on it, and the best we can do is commit fraud over 5 dollars.

You would of thought they would just alert staff to there being fakes around and to check them before processing them?

That would be way too logical.

Because then they could prosecute the person for fraud, and that's entirely too much paperwork over $5.

I think it is considered a type of counterfeiting. You can see certain coupons for sale on ebay you can't seem to find on your own. Sounds like a scam to me. Arrests need to be made. It is still stealing.

I completely agree. We've all fallen on hard times, but to make $$$ by cheating "the system" is just plain pathetic.

This perhaps relates back to why we can't post coupon scans on blu-ray.com. Fraudulent coupon use/abuse tends to have ill effects.

that sucks...I've always used the unaltered one that DOES say "toy coupon" on it and even managers have accepted it from me. That coupon paired with their solid blu sales has been my favorite 1-2 punch

I never messed with the 5.00 target coupon, 5.00 wasnt worth getting in trouble over. target has a very percise camera system that records activity with video at every register. So the AP know who the fraudsters are

There was a sign posted at every register at the Target I went to this morning, so I would guess this is everywhere. So the people who copied it or whatever have ruined it for the people who legitimately had the coupons.

the people are called the WWW..............I'm sure once Disney tallies up the fraudulent coupons used for enchanted, DIRL, NCFOM and NT2 there will be no more from them as well

Yeah It pretty much will come down to no more good coupons because of fraud and other reasons.
