Bic Speakers? Who are they?

Just wondering what this company is about and in particular the Accoustech line of speakers does anyone have them any thoughts on them. I was asked I'm asking the oh wise ones of the forums

I haven't heard that name mentioned in years, if in fact it's the same company I'm thinking of.

Back in the seventies I bought a pair of BIC Venturi 4's. They were a vented design and I had them for a few years. At the time they had a fairly good reputation, but I don't know what they've done since.

I visit high-end audio dealers quite often, in addition to your big box stores, but I haven't seen any of their product around. How did you come across them?

I'm actually asking for my brother in law he must have run across them when he was in the states or well I'm not sure Anyway I posted their site and none of the shops locally carry them so we can't check them out. It's hard to find what your looking for in the armpit of the world

Halifax is a great town! I used to spend years travelling there and have very fond memories of my visits to Argyle Street and the slew of local watering holes!

IMO...if you can't personally check out those speakers, I'd suggest looking at other brands. And for the record, Canadian speaker manufacturers are world-renowned! Totem and Energy to name but 2. Of course, I'm partial to Totem as that is what I purchased, but don't let that sway you!

One thing is for sure, there are hundreds of speaker manufacturers and they have product in every price range. So set yourself a budget and go listening!

I have the 5.1 Acoustech setup (HT-75s, 65, 63s, and H-100 sub) and they are incredible! They're horn loaded speakers, which sound amazing for home theater. There are two authorized sellers on ebay, and they negotiate price. Acoustic Sound Design and Sound Distributors (they both have websites under that name).

For the money (I paid $750 shipped for my entire setup), you can't get anything better.

Not that I don't think they're "amazing" but the word "owners" discredits the objectivity of the reviews.

Bic 100's for the price rank right up there with some of the best.

My 1st set-up was BIC venturi all the way around 5.1 the price was right for my budget back then and they sounded good,that was about 5years ago,never had any problems with them,thought they were well constructed from there i went to def techs

My Bic Acoustech set is amazing and its not even 7.1 or is even set up completely with speakers stands etc. Get them and you wont regret it. sounddistributors.com will give you a discount too. Just ask
