Anyone here have experience with Target's extended service plans?
I ask because I posted here about how my Xbox 360 crapped out on me last week. It was thankfully on a Best Buy replacement plan so I'm waiting on them to send me a gift card for its purchase price. However, I was at Best Buy today and asked whether they still did replacement plans for the 360 (since it might have changed because of how many are dying) and I found out they don't offer replacement plans anymore for the Pro or Elite, only a 2-year service plan for 79.99. When I bought a 20GB PS3 for my niece at launch last year I remembered it only cost me 29.99 for a 3-year plan at Target (only place that still had PS3s around here at launch). So I checked and they charge the same price for the 360. So which one would you guys pick? On a pure cost basis Target's is a no-brainer - 1 more year for 50 bucks less. I don't know how good their service is though. Oh, and to clarify before anyone brings it up - I know M$ has a 3-year warranty on the 360 standard but that only covers RROD cases. My old 360 had the disk drive crap out so it wouldn't have been covered since it was out of the 1-year general warranty period. Having experienced the unreliability of the Xbox 3fixme I'm not getting another without an extended warranty. And please, no posting about how I should just get a PS3 instead - I already have one and I'm a hardcore PS lover. However, I'm even more of a hardcore gamer and despite how much I despise M$, the only place I can play Ace Combat 6, Dear or Alive, and Halo3 sadly is on the Xbox. Appreciate any input from you guys and gals. |

try www.squaretrade.com
They are a Ebay owned company that sells extended warranty plans on electronics. I paid 199.99 for a 3 yr plan on my TV I bought from Amazon.com. My brother-in-law purchased a plan for his wii for 12.00 compared to the 60.00 plan that CC offered. I had a coupon code to save 10% but I gotta find it |

You're not the first one to mention them so I'll have to give it some consideration. |

My brother bought an ESP for his camera, when his camera did finally stop working he had to mail it in to some camera store to be fixed which was covered, and I think the Shipping and handling charges were going to be covered by Target. Weird how it worked but he did get his camera back within a week or two fixed.
