Default slightly upgrading, need help with contrast ratio

well i had a 32 inch vizio with only a 800:1 contrast ratio. now, it was good, and it really got me into blu ray. it's only 1 year old, but i decided i need to upgrade to take more advantage of my 90 blu ray collection.

my price range is max 1000 dollars basically. so i have decided on a 42 inch vizio for 960 dollars at Sam's Club. it seems as though vizio has really improved over the last year and a half. id like some feedback on this, and also this: it has a 5000:1 contrast ratio, which seems much higher than big vizios i looked at a year ago. is 5000:1 pretty good for a 42 inch 1080p? remember i am jumping up from a 800:1 on a 32 inch 720p.

thanks!
