The Dish Network recently announced their all-HD TurboHD packages. They also claim to offer 1080p on-demand programs which they say are the equivalent to Blu-Ray. I prefer to watch only HD on my plasma. I'm not really thrilled with my AT&T service. TurboHD sounds pretty good. Am I missing something?

I was suspicious that it might not have the resolution that it claimed. I recently switched from Comcast cable to AT&T and I am disappointed. The picture doesn't appear as clear, the remote doesn't work as well and there are no HD on-demand movies. This Dish offering appeared too good to be true.

Like all Cable/sat offering, they will be macroblocks because bandwitdh cost money and those company just can't afford it. Might not be a problem on a 40' at 20 feet..but people with Profector's ouch... (i can't comment on the situation, only on what's on right now)... plus the sound have a chance to be screwed. I friend recorded the PPV of Transformers and the PPV sound like crap compared to the HD DVD...

I don't know if they are the same thing or not but evidently Dish Network Canada became Bell ExpressVu.
