Solving a UT3 problem...

I have the US version of Unreal Tournament 3. I install the game, no problems. I go online and it updates to 1.10 I then download from the European Playstation store the UT3 free bonuspack.

It downloads.

I then go online, assuming that the content has been added.

But i can't see the extra levels.

I then try to log onto a Deathmatch level like 'Deck'.

It tells me that the server won't give me a file called LT_Morbias.

Vehicle capture The Flag works fine, and i can even drop into a Deck match (or other Deathmatch) being hosted by someone else, but NOT Midway.

How do i solve this poblem?

Btw, I bought the US version from E-Bay in the UK. The Seller used a stock photograph for the listing, and because i had no problems playing the Camaign etc i assumed that it was okay.

My understanding is that downloadable content is region encoded, meaning you can only download content for the region of the disk otherwise it will not work!

that's why I haven't imported Rockband yet!

Is there more to the game that can be downloaded? I did not know this. I may have to start playing this game again.

that's why I haven't imported Rockband yet!

Myself and a friend may have a potential work-around to this problem. I am going to completely Uninstall Unreal Tournament 3 from my PS3, and install his UK/European version. I will then get update 1.10 and the Bonus Pack, and use MY US copy of the game to run it.

There hasn't been any glitches running my US version of the game, so hopefully it should go off without problems.

By the way, i tried joining a US Server Online and it DIDN'T have the same problem. It recognised the content.

Region encoding in games? Bastards the lot of 'em...

If you search around the forums you'll find links to a ton of user created mods and maps that are designed for UT3. The mods are created on PC and usable on the PC and PS3 versions. So far, user created mods are not available for the 360 version which just released this week.
