Cool The Next HD Audio Formats

When Dolby Digital and DTS where the standard they made them better with Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES.
So when is DolbyTrue HD EX and DTS-HDMA-ES going to hit the market.
These Two formats would include 8.1 or 9.1 Surround Sound.

Heres the 8.1 Setup every and 9.1 setup.
S=Speakers no there is no sub in the Diagram.Upper case letters are the new speakers.
= means no speaker there

8.1 Setup
s s s

s = s

s S s

9.1 setup
s s s

s S s

s S s

The 8.1 setup Includes a new back center.
The 9.1 setup Includes anew back center and over head surround.

What do you guy's think about this.

TY you for reading
I't would sound amazing

Responses please

9.1 with an overhead speaker is a bit iffy. an overhead speaker would be a very hard thing to mass-market because you cant put it on a stand or shelf, it has to be mounted.

I could see 9.1 in a different config. though.

S S S
S = S
S = S
=SS=

that way you have speakers in front, at an angle to the front, at the sides, and in back

B&W makes an overhead speaker that is in-wall, it sounds very good.

I think that 8.1 is the most that can be done for a home theatre without going ballistic. Perhaps a 8.2 configuration it's a next step from that. I personally would love a 9.2 configuration with an overhead speaker, perhaps some receivers will have that option but I just don't see that being an option with a common out of the box receiver.

My SACD of Telarc's 6 channel 1812 uses the 6th channel (The one used for LFE on most recordings) for height (for the bells and stuff) so if you run that straight into a Sub + satelitte system and put the satellite in the ceiling, voilá, extra height channel.

Yamaha already makes an 11.1 receiver.

It is completely reDONKEYless and there is a door on one side and a window on the other where the new speakers would go so I'm out.

sorta like computers.... (keep in mind, I'm not a big computer guy, I'm lucky to know how to check my email)

The hardware is almost ALWAYS overkill for the software/media.... it's very rare to find software that has "system requirements" that are greater than the consumers system...... if you bought a PC 5 years ago, it'll probably run the newest software.... (gaming may be different... I'm not sure... never bought any of that)
