Reckon 1.2 will do if you plan to decode in the player and bitstream LPCM. To bitstream TrueHD and DTS MA you'll need 1.3.

hdmi v1.1 and higher for decoded LPCM

I did read that if you want DSD decoded in the AVR, 1.1 won't cut it. I haven't seen a transport that will decode DSD to LPCM. I'm not sure about DVD-A.

the PS3 is a tricky critter. Its hdmi v1.3 but uses an HDMI chip "SilVastlane 9132" that is not highly publicized or clearly described. ?

so I really do not know exactly.

But since it decodes DSD to LPCM, and 7.1 LPCM is compatible on hdmi v1.1, technically it would still work.

Off the subject a bit.. Bit what is the 360 capable of? Theres no audio via HDMI..
