New Sony Blu-ray Players? - Blu-ray Forum

Is there a roadmap for new Sony Bluray players in 08? Just bought a KDLW40000 LCD and I would like to buy a Sony bluray player but have heard mixed reviews about the current BDP300 and BDP500 players.

Sony PS3 seems a good option but I already have an Xbox 360 and I believe the remote for PS3 is bluetooth and not IR - which may seem a small thing but I am looking for the simplest integrated setup as possible with the highest quality (wife and mother friendly is important!).

The Panasonic BD30 seems a good option and I may go this way with an Onkyo 606 AMP if i cant get what I want from the Sony product stable.

Any advice/info would be appreciated.

Pre-orders are being taken at ABT Electronics and Toys R Us for a mid-July shipment or sooner.

I don't have any first hand experience with the Sony players, just what all I've read here about slow load times and tons of recent firmware problems. (Not including the PS3 in those statements)

I personally have the Panny -30 player, and love it! The remote is pretty logical and I think that you could consider this player to be wife/mom/gf/sister friendly!
