Default Still in awe of Blu?

Over 3 years into the existence of Blu-Ray and my obsession with it, I still find myself in awe of Blu-Ray when I sit down and pop in a really great Blu, almost like experiencing it for the first time over and over again.
Sometimes people experience diminishing return on such experiences but I still stare in wonder at the screen engrossed by its vivid colors and Hi-Def picture.
I was wondering if anyone here still finds themselves in awe of the magical wonders of Blu-Ray?

I do, BD is just so different than DVD, and not only in picture, but sound. The crisp sound of it together with the HD is an incredible upgrade. Everything sounds so perfect and clean in the ones I own, that it makes me even appreciate those films more.

I do the exact same thing! I'm to busy staring at facial features and backgrounds and all the neat details before I realize I'm totally zoned out and have to rewind a few seconds to catch what I just missed

I do too, and so you know why?

The big part of the explanation as to why blu ray still awes me is because I still watch standard defintioion programming on my my HDTV most of the time, so when I pop bd, the differrence becomes quiet vivid.

I never get my eyes to used to HD.

Good point, I have standard cable so it never looks great and I still watch DVDs time to time. So watching a Blu-Ray is a treat for my eyes and ears.

Oh yes. Watching films like Avatar and Wall-E multiple times, I still find myself mesmerized by how high the standards of Blu-ray can really be taken by these titles, but I am often also in awe when watching an older film. The Matrix, for example, is a film I have owned on VHS, and then on DVD, and watched several times and got used to on both formats. And when I saw it on Blu-ray, seeing it in high definition, in a new light, really was phenomenal. It felt like I was watching it for the first time again.

My Blu-ray collection was rather small a few months ago, but when I really started to appreciate Blus, I collected over 50-60 during the summer. I just can't get enough. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Probably not.

Tell me about Matrix in Hi-def.

Last time I saw it before seing it on blu ray was on 20' SDTV with VHS.

When I saw and heard it on blu ray, I almost had a heart attack.

Yes. By nature I am very frugal. So it is always a cool thing when I spend money to add to my Blu-ray collection

Under 100 titles..... if you still have both of your kidneys, I'd say you're using the term "obsessed" a little too loosely

Oh God I forgot to mention the sound. Not only is HD audio just incredible, but as somebody from the UK, I had to watch my films on VHS and DVD with the PAL 4% speedup, which really annoys me yet so many don't seem to notice it, so it's a wonderful bonus that Blu-ray has disposed of it.

I just haven't found a buyer for them yet I only started collecting Blu's maybe a over a year ago but I've always rented them from Blockbuster at work so I had early exposure and have always appreciated them. I hope to be at 100 by then end of the year

i'm still am, definitely, nothing to compare it, the detail, the PQ/AQ of an excellent transfer still blows my mind, i completely now ignored my dvd collections, don't even care to look at dvd prices even they practically given them away for what they selling nowadays

Sometimes yes, but I get accustomed to things kinda easily... which I hate

If I'm watching something with great PQ/AQ then I'll actually stop and think WOW! Other than that, I'm like yes, this is blu-ray and I watch it all the time

Agreed. I have kind of gotten used to watching Blu-rays, but occasionally I will try to think back and remember what it felt like to watch a clip from Click on the tv's at Best Buy back when having a high-def TV was just a dream of mine. It makes me appreciate the leap forward from DVD. And I agree with those of you who mention the sound quality difference as well!
