Your TV is HDCP capable (anything with an HDMI port is HDCP-capable). You'll want to use a DVI to HDMI cable or adapter and you'll be fine.
As for your main question, are you asking which of the software players is best, or which drive is best? All the software players have issues. Start with whatever comes with the drive you buy and go from there. As for drives, it depends if you want a burner or just a reader. For burners, check out the LG GGW-H20L (6x), Sony BWU-200S (or the OEM Panasonic LF-PB271JD - both 4x). Those are the fastest drives out that can reliably write to both single and double-layered media. If you just want a reader, the Lite-on DH-401S is a great read-only drive, and the Pioneer BDC-2202 can read BDs, but also write to DVD and CD media. The Sony and Optiarc readers are fine, too, but the read speed is limited to 2x instead of 4.8x. Hope that helps. |

The fastest (6X) BD burner and also the least expensive that I have seen is the new model GBWH20L from LG. Here is the CC page: http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/Searc...o.x=10&go.y=10 This may be overkill if you only want a player (ROM) drive, but it costs only a few $ more than many (e.g., Sony) of the BD-ROM drives. Lite-On probably has the least expensive BD-ROM drive.

I have the afore mentioned Lite-On drive and it is quite serviceable. I haven't had any problems of yet. I am replacing it with the also afore mentioned GBW-H20L from LG because eventually my HTPC will become a full DVR. The Lite-On drive will go in my XP x64 desktop PC in my bedroom.
