Default How good of a deal was this?

-Samsung 40" 650 series (LN40A650) for $1,729 (after tax) Plus a 10% mail in rebate(saving $161). In the end it will have cost me $1,568.
-Samsung Blu-Ray Player (BD-P1400) for $312 (after tax)
-Both NIB from Sears.

First off, I work at Sears so i get a little extra discount than most. I got 10% off with my employee discount, another 10% for a samsung promo we have for employees only, another 5% off for getting it on family and friends night, and then on the tv i'll get anotehr 10% back through a mail-in-rebate for it being a home theater purchase over $999. I know I got a really good deal, but how good like compared to people at Best Buy who get stuff for 5% above cost?

Sounds pretty sick to me...

Although to be realistic you're an employee so of course you'd be getting a great discount bargin. If I were in your shoes I would have gone for the 52' though since you're getting a great tv with awesome specs. Might as well get as big a screen as possible to enjoy the wonderful goodness on.

Damn I should check out BB to see if they're hiring. I bet their employees get a sick discount as well.

Well for the TV, I only have a 42" gap to fill. As for Best Buy, I'd like to work there for the discounts as well but I make so much more at Sears since i'm on commission. But good luck applying if u do....i got turned down when i did . If they ask you random questions like "tell me of a time when u did this and felt good about it" just make up and answer because they're trying to see how quickly u can think on ur feet.

amazon has the samsung 40a650 for $1380 no tax free ship.

i picked up my 46a650 for $1701 in june, price matched it since emp cost dropped ~$120 and then there was a $250 samsung accomodations rebate for emp.

about $1330 once that rebate pulls through.... for a 46"

thanks so kindly man as i do appreciate it. R there any other sites u know of as these setting are just to bland and dark and colorless. I am starting to think i should have kept my xbr4 or just have bought the xbr6 instead but 37 inches was too small for me.

Hey bud, would u or ANYONE know the 4 digit codes for this samsung lcd? I have to program the universal remote that comes with the yamaha 663 with the samsung ln40A650 lcd tv so i can operate this tv with the yamaha remote but can u BELIEVE that NEITHER of the manuals for the tv or receiver have a code listing. How can u program it without them? Also, i tried the settings but they are just too dark and for whatever reason, my xbr4 40 inch looks better but it's calibrated Thanks
