Default Second Gen Panasonic DMP-BD10A

In short the article says (from Panasonic's Milano show) that it will have HDMI 1.3, support of 7.1 HD sound (only mentions Dolby TrueHD), List price $1000 and available from April. The article also says that the older BD10 will get a firmware update at the same time that enables the same audio features as the newer BD10A.

Can't wait for this firmware (especially with NIN coming in 2 weeks).

Greetings,

This is great news. I like the BD-10 and enabling these features will make it that much better.

Regards,

Josh (and GoldenRedux, WriteSimply, Ralph, and all the other Panny owners), I just saw a couple of days ago the Panasonic 103" plasma being fed from a Panny and the image was amazing. For example standing about 2 feet from it watching The Wild I couldn't see any noise or imperfection. In fact it was so good and clean all I wanted to do is turn the sharpness up to see if i could find any! (But the representatives had calibrated the thing so they didn''t want anyone touching it )

The Panny is an excellent machine. I haven't had a single playback issue and the quality is always top-notch. Don't regret my purchase for a second. With the TrueHD support coming soon (and DTS-HD as well), this will probably be my only Blu-ray player for a long while.

Sometimes I wish I would have waited for a Panny. This seems like the best player out right now. Then I remember that I was enjoying BD from the start and now the Sammy is on bedroom detail on a 32" LCD so I don't think I'm missing much.

Come winter time though... might be a whole different ballgame.

This is great news. Hopefully this will be fully featured to take adavntage of Bd live.

Also a Pioneer rep confirmed in a thread on AVS that there will be a 2nd generation Elite player available by summer.

The picture is of a recorder with a hard drive. That is probably an old beta mock-up.
