Default Total Media Theatre Update now DTS HD MSTR

Finally got DTS HD MASTER on Total Media Theater, still down samples but with Vista you can re-upsample. Watching Flyboys with it - very nice!

I thought total media theater was supposed to keep the original decoded track and NOT downsample

I've heard rumor that it does downsample (not 100% sure) I know it will keep it with the new Asus product, but you can't trust people nowadays. I've heard that it keeps the same data rate but the bit frequency goes to 16 bit. On other forums they've found the Vista trick to work nicely - even upsampling to 192khz and 24 bit (if your sound card is capable). TMT doesn't downsample LPCM and as far as TrueHD it's believed that it wasn't downsampled either (I have my doubts after the PDVD fasco). The major thing is that its outputing DTS-HD MSTR now. It wouldn't do that before - I could only get the core out of Flyboys or any other DTS-HD Master movie. In a few weeks the computer world will burst open with the new sound cards. I for one can't wait - to the point that I have a 4850 by my side ready to go (unopened mind you) if they don't come out by next week. 7.1 LPCM audio from my video card...I'll take that.

After a quick search - you are correct - TMT doesn't downsample at all.

COOL!... i'd like to buy TMT, but honestly... hundreds have gone into my HTPC, and I'm finding that the upgrades just dont stop (doesn't surprise me, after all it is a PC ). By the way, is there a way to get 24 fps via HTPC? I know my PS3 does it, but like always, I'm not exactly sure if my new panasonic viera does native 24fps. Amazon, and even some people on this forum say that the new 2008 viera line, including my PZ85U does native 24 fps, but the panny website says it does 3:2, so i don't even know if i can get the 24fps. Back to the original question though, is there a video card that does 24fps output? Better yet, does the 8800GT 512 do it?

Any Geforce card that has PureVideo HD outputs 1080p at 24fps. (When Hardware Accelration is activated).

Is this 100% certain? I have a Creative Audigy card with 24bit/192KHz support. Does the 'enable downmixing (192KHz)' checkbox have any affect?

If it doesn't downsample, then it's better than PDVD8.

Do you have a link the info?
