Default Is a Phillips BDP900 BD Player worth $200??

I already own a PS3 so no need to say that just i can pick this up at Walmart on clearance for $200. Is it worth the price? I know its not 2.0 and all but makes good for a bedroom bd player and Ps3 my main one.

Not all (few) BD players have ethernet ports... you just download the update to your computer & then burn it as an image onto a CD-r disc & then put the disc in to the BD player & do the update.

Samsung is the only company that put ethernet ports on all BD players no matter if it is 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 capable player.

The Phillips is basically a Samsung BD-P1000 with a Phillips label instead. You might want to read up on the Samsung and consider all the issues that player has. I have one and I definitely wouldn't buy another one, nor would I pay $200 for it. I'm kicking myself for paying what I did for mine when it was brand new. There are far too many quirks with this player and a lot of discs are difficult to load and play correctly (mostly the newer releases). Samsung support is iffy at best, and Phillips isn't too far behind on that. You might want to look into some of the other players out there before jumping on this.

I bought my BDP9000 brand new for $200 on Ebay about 18 months ago, and other than a few minor issues (mostly certain Fox titles not playing without a firmware upgrade) I've had no issues with it. I also have every firmware update they've come out with in the last 12 months burnt onto cd's, so that's not an issue either. I think it's a pretty solid player. If you want decoded or bitstreamed DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD though then this is not the player for you, as it doesn't support any of those high-def codecs.
