Playstation 3 eyetoy - Blu-ray Forum

Can you talk directly into the eyetoy for the ps3?, assuming that you're using a game that works with the eyetoy?

Yeah it has a built in mic. You just have to enable it on the settings menu on th XMB.

I find the Blu-tooth much better for gaming. When I used the Eyetoy for voice, people complained about background noise.

I've heard other people say it works great. For me during Warhawk, not so much.

Only reason that I ask is because I was playing burnout 5 online and it seemed to me that someone wanted to talk to me, although I didn't respond because I wasn't aware of the fact that the eyetoy had a mic.

Unless Gamekid made a mistake, he was referring to the PS2 Eyetoy so I could see his confusion if that's what he's setup with.

I was refering to the ps3 eyetoy. I didn't know that there was a mic built into it, but I know that now.

Just for clarification:

The Playstation 2 USB cam is referred to as the Eyetoy. The PS3's cam is labeled as the Playstation Eye

All good heh. Personally, I just use the Bluetooth headset that came with Warhawk for the audio chatter. I run into the same thing when using the PS Eye for audio chats, which is people hear too much background noise.
