Default Blu-Ray Vs. DVD Bonus Features question

I'm thinking about switching over to Blu-Ray, not really caring about the price of a disc or a player, i'm fine with that, but here's the question... Can someone give me an example of bonus features that would be on a Blu-Ray Vs. A DVD, being that a Blu-Ray can hold so much more space, I want to see what all more advantages there is to getting a Blu-Ray movie over a DVD movie, other than the greater quality.

Well so far Blu-rays have been sparse in the way of extra features. The only thing they contain that better than DVD's are some of the same features but in HD.

What about with a movie like Lord of The Rings which is 4 Discs, I've never seen the movie but I imagine it's 4 Disc's because of all the features. With that being said, would a movie like that then be converted to fit all on 1 Blu-Ray disc?

There's some Disney BDs that have exclusive shorts in high definition too
A few example: Dinosaur has Origins, Eight Below has Ice, Haunted Mansion has Grave Spirits, Casanova has Reflections of Venice, Flightplan has Jet Stream, etc

My take on that is that in the future, for megamovies like that we'll have 2 disc editions one with the movie at full quality and features that go with it, (commentaries, branched scenes, isolated scores or sound effects, maybe SFX or something branched sections (Beauty and the Beast/Work in Progress?) and another disc chockful of extras that don't need to run with the movie all in high def too. Because that's what we'll want . I think.

Superman Returns(example) movie was HD, the outtakes were SD.

There are WAY longer clips/outtakes/extras on a BD though... tons more room for them!
