Audio hissing over hdmi pcm on Marantz

I recently purchased Marantz SR4001 and hooked up with my ps3 via hdmi. I made sure I output audio and video through hdmi and set the audio to linear pcm on the ps3.

The audio started fine and I got 5.1 channels working. However, when I used the triagle on the ps3 controller (using the A/V switch) to switch from linear pcm to bitstream during a blu-ray movie, I hear nothing at all. I then switch it back from bitstream to linear pcm. This time i hear hissing from all speakers. If I restart the ps3, sometimes the problem goes away and sometimes it doesn't.

Does anyone else have similar problems? Is it a problem with ps3 or the receiver? (I tend to think it's with ps3 since when i restart my ps3 the problem will go away sometimes.)
