been a work in progress for many years, as you can see as the main systems gets upgraded most of the time it gets rotated down the chain of rooms or things like the Sony TA-E9000ES Pre-Amp with a Sony RM AX4000 Remote and a ATI 2505 amp left over from the last changing of hardware, (can only get my wife to accept so much for the bedroom system) was over kill, think the bose jewls would have exploded with 250W RMS per channel LOL. So they went to ebay

I have no problem with your systems they are fine and work for where they are placed. Bose can work fine in a bedroom enviornment - you've got the real deal up front where it really counts (ML, Sunfire, ect...) with some excellent vinyl to boot - good job

Good system, i like M/L speakers and the Sunfire stuff is very good. The big weakness i see is the Sony receiver as a pre/pro, dump that and get a proper pre/pro, the difference in sound quality would be very large.

Wow, it took 7 posts for someone to wack on the Sony receiver. I have the same receiver and ML speakers and it sounds great. You definitely have a beautiful set-up. How about some pics.

I know, other than the 6 hdmi its a downgrade from what I had. but got it for $1050, including a 4M Audioquest Hdmi X at Sound Advice/Tweeter brand new sealed box and it was way above the serial numbers with the recall. Just passing time till some of the Pre-Pro new models come out. should have done the same for the BD 2000ES and just got a S500 or S300 until the 550 or next ES is released, When the S550 hits stores the 2000ES will be moved to the bedroom system (not impressed with it)

any suggestions on possible weak points and I know the 5300 is as far as my system goes. I have very hard speakers to drive and not many AVR are up to it. I have many times played DVD concerts at a steady 110db, subs off. Hey but then I did not think my old ATI AT2505 was up to the task either (lack of headroom) when I got the TGA 7400 and bi-amped the ML's came to life like I had never heard them before, did not realy need 2 subs at that point

If I still had my old polk system I'm sure the 5300 would be fine they were easy to drive, (went through many tweeters though) the only thing left is a set of FX1000 surrounds. Sold the CS1000 and RT1000 and the PSW1200 (the end table that that thing was with dual 12"S)

I believe there is a ML owner's forum somewhere, and don't take my word for this, but I believe Sunfire amps are the preferred amps to drive them with...... I'd search around for that, and I'm sure there are many many many people there with the same speakers.....

I love ML for HT, but I don't have a dedicated 2-channel set-up yet

Yes Sunfire are the hot amps for ML because of the Two output options for the main left and right channels: current source for a warmer, more open tube sound or voltage source for tightest response. Use both in bi-amp configuration for the best of both worlds - warm, spacious highs; and tight, punchy lows!

That's the first thing I see, as well. It's a very nice system and reminds me of Seth's (Zepherman) all-ML HT/music system. He recently purchased the Denon AVP pre-pro and absolutely loves it. The other possible improvements I see would be SACD/CD player and subs.

Which ML model are you driving with the AVR? I think you'll find that a separate amp will make your Logans sound even better. As you probably know, those panels are difficult to drive and the onboard Sony amp isn't an ideal solution.

Martin Logan owners forum is here.

All ML's are driven by the TGA 7400, that is why I have it, the sony just can not take the low ohm load, the TGA has no issues, subs I have no choice its a space issue. My wife would not allow subs as large as the Polk PSW1200 I had. those subs are huge. Since bi-amping the ML reQuest bass is not an issue, have the sunfires crossed at 30Hz. may even turn one off. just not needed

No, not at all. just not sure I'm getting the best sound possible. Took a long time to get the system to this level. I even waited 2 years longer than I normaly do before the last upgrades. I usaly do it every 5 years. most things in my system were 2000-2002. wanted to wait to see the direction that the BD & HD-DVD were going and was realy on the wall about LCD/Plasma flat screens.
