Angry Bells and Whistles

Is anybody else ANNOYED by the unavoidable "slider bar" appearing on many BDs? I'm an artist and sometimes I like to freeze a frame just to enjoy a composition, or play a scene in slo-mo. Cloverfield and The Mummy are two examples of this trend. Don't get me totally wrong here. I love the capability of BD, and seeing where you are in the time-line of a film is useful, but I would like the ability to disable it. A beautiful freeze frame from a great film is a wonderful thing, especially in high def!
