Brand new system with Blu ray and out of the box playbck doesn't work. Nothing that Dell has provided has helped. WHich, BTW, isn't much!
I installed the Dell Power DVD software that says (supports blu Ray playback), but Nothing. Ideas? Or is it just another Dell system that under performs as usual? At least my HD Toshiba drive worked! I am certain Blu-ray is the coolest but, I had HD players that actually worked as adverstised. |

Did the Blu-Ray drive come pre-installed?

Is the BD movie a BD Live disc? I don't think any version of PowerDVD supports Profile 1.1 or Profile 2.0 discs. The newest version of WinDVD is only Bonus View capable.
Nevertheless, any BD should allow the movie to be played at the very least regardless if it supports BD Profile 1.1 or 2.0 features or not. |

The player works for all media except BluRay. When a BR disc is inserted, the system indicates there is no media in the drive.
I have reinstalled the PowerDVD software from Dell and reinstalled the MEdia Direct software hoping that there was just something that came installed incorrectly. The BR Player was OEM (MAtshita Drive) with the XPS system DELL XPS 1530 Media Direct /POwerDVD software Vista Ultimate Matshita bd re uj 225s ATA INtel DUO 2.5 proc 4 GB RAm what else? after 2 weeks of Dell saying that the drive was fine and it was "software" issues...they finally replaced the drive and it worked immediately.
