Default Onkyo 705 and new Sony 350 blu ray true HD problem

One of my client bought thest two units and nothing shows on the display that it is running with True HD or DTS HD. I know I should set the BD player to PCM Not Digital or DTS with a 1.3 HDMI direct but nothign still works. Just says PCM on the display and the sound is very dull and low. What am I doing wrong here? Is it the receiver that needs to be set up in the menu correctly or the BD player? I used couple of DTS HD or True HD BD movies and nothing works. I also selected the correct setting through audio in the BD menu to get it ready to play. HELP!

Not PCM. Bitstream if you want it to display on the 705.

BD350 Settings:

Audio (HDMI) = Auto

BD Audio Setting = Direct

you also have to make sure you select the correct audio on the disc.

The only receiver setting I can think that would give you trouble:

HDMI Audio Out = OFF (should be turned off)

I thought that username looked familiar, then I checked your sig and saw the dual biamped Emo amps and I knew. Welcome to blu-ray.com, Penny. You helped convince me to go with the biamped LPA-1s on the Emo forums (check my sig ). I haven't looked back.

Edit: Sorry to hijack your thread, MieDan4ever.

His question has been answered this isn't hijacking. Nice to see you around these parts. I've lurked here for awhile now. I love looking at some of the posts here where someone with years of experience and $$ in their home theater talking to someone else who's seriously considering a new Bose Acoustimass system. Very diverse indeed.
