i have never watched either trilogy in entirety!!

Star Wars, i watched the first one & i think one of the new ones; fell asleep during both as there was nothing interesting going on to me!!

Lord of the Rings, i was watching one of them w/ my sister & it kept going on & on & on... lost interest pretty quickly. My question is, why did they not just drop the f*cking ring in the ocean... *ploop* problem solved!!

LOTR was awe-inspiring.

It's cool that you don't have to agree with everyone else though. Non-conformity wins.

I love the Lord of the Rings and four of the Star Wars films. So I can agree that at least two of the SW films suck big time.

Loved star wars was when i was younger that means starwars (77,80,83) but does not watch it very much now but guess I will buy them when them come on bd ( since I am a collector). Lotr got them on dvd and have seen them once but is not a huge fan other then the movies are very good made but nothing I watch over and over again.

SO NO I WILL NOT BUY LOTR on BD.

Both are great. Both are generation-defining sagas IMO. Sorry to hear you don't like them.

I love the LOTR trilogy and it is probably my favorite film series of all time. Star Wars on the other hand; while the original trilogy holds a special place in my heart as I grew up on these films back in the 70's and 80's; I watch them now and they seem a bit overrated. They just don't excite me or capture my attention like they used to. The new trilogy is just horrible and I like to pretend, in my mind at least, they were never made.

I loved the original Star Wars trilogy ,but I found the LOTR movies to long and was bored by the 3rd one. I probably would feel different though if I had read the books.

I liked the original 3 Star Wars films. I saw the newer 3 and they just didn't do it for me. I didn't hate them, but none of the 6 films are on my favorites list.

As for the Lord of the Rings trilogy ... I appreciate them for what they are. They are beautifully filmed pieces of art. That being said, they bored me to tears. I have only fallen asleep one time EVER in the theater and it was during the second film.

I watched the first SW when I was a little kid and it made an impression on me, great movie at the time. I'm pretty sure I watched the second and third one but for some reason I just don't remember much of them and lost my interest on watching them, now for the new trilogy I watched the first one and to be honest I don't want to watch the other two.
I'll give you I'm not a big fan of sci-fi space movies,(horror is my guilty pleasure) and maybe if I watch all the movies one by one I might liked them but at this time I rather play a good concert DVD.
LOTR I enjoy them but I don't think I will spend another 10+ hours to watch them again.

When I a kid I saw the original three films, at the time enjoying them. But now when I watch them (particularly the first one) I just find them cheesy. for me they are overhyped and get a lot of column inches because of "fanboyism". I recently saw the last three films, they were OK, but nothing special, and I will probably not watch them again. I certainly won't be buying any of them when they are released on Blu.

As for LOTR, not seen any of them yet. I think I ought to, along with all the Harry Potter films (which I have not seen either), just so that I can join in any discussions. I have been lent the whole of the LOTR films in their extended versions, so I am guessing I have to put a full weekend to one side to get through them all !!!
