Have you seen these movies or are these going to be blind buys? If the latter, I would suggest renting all three instead of buying one. |

IMO all 3 of the movies are rentals. And for the record, I really like IKWYDLS. You have to ask yourself whether you are ever going to watch any of these movies again and if yes, how soon down the line? Would you watch it enough to justify paying to own? It's a better option to just rent stuff you wont watch that often and save your money for things you REALLY like and will watch many times like Iron Man. |

If you want a pretty good action/Mad Max type movie that's demo quality, go with Doomsday. I thought the PQ was great and the movie itself was much better than I expected. I can't comment on Nim's Island since I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. |

I bought Doomsday on Blu and loved it. It's a combination of Mad Max, Escape From New York, 28 Days later and tons of other action flicks. Great Popcorn movie and looks and sounds great. I'm watching Nims Island tomorrow on Blu. I rented that.

I know we've brought this point up earlier in the thread, but:
Could someone please explain--briefly--why he even should spend money on a movie he's never seen, and why we feel obligated to pressure him to do so, even if the correct and logical answer is "None of the above"? I can appreciate that most here are longtimers enough to feel some idea of "persecution" that nobody has their format yet, that they think they have to buy any movie that they want to rent, and that they have to push sales figures up to prove their own enthusiasm in tangible form to what they believe is a doubting and uncaring world... Hey, I've been there, too, and it was worse back when thought nobody sold DVD. But you wanna know a secret? ![]() Now Blu-ray movies are just exactly the same as any other movies on disk... And you watch them exactly the same way you pick up SD movies to watch: You go to Blockbuster and pick them up, or you click them on Netflix. If you think you can't afford a movie you've never heard of, hold onto your diapers, 'cause this new 2008 concept is going to blow your mind: ===YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT.=== ![]() ![]() ![]() Unlike my old past of DVD, you could rent Blu-rays from Day one, and at some of the best places too. Eh, you whippersnappers have it easy, these days |
