Hey am pretty new to all this HD stuff only bought my first two blu-rays today there playing them off my PS3,

so i was just wondering if it matters what type of HDMI cable you use? like is there better quality ones than other ones and if so which would be the best one for me to get for the ultimate picture????

-Thank You.

It's mostly the same for all HDMI cables. All HDMI cables are transferring a digital signal in its natural resolution and, therefore, there is no real degradation on the signal.

What size, make, model, and viewing distance from the TV are you using? Also, if sending signal through a receiver, which make and model are you using?

It could be that your TV isn't properly calibrated. A lot of people don't understand that having a TV properly calibrated for standard definition material is WAY different than having a TV properly calibrated for High Definition.

P.S. If the black bars weren't there, you'd be missing 20%-45% of the visual presentation.

My mom bought a "HD Ready" TV about a year ago...absolutely terrible TV.

For a while I could in no way afford a decent TV, being on a tight budget just starting out in life. These companies that put out these crap "HDTVs" really do take advantage of the uninformed consumer.

this is probably your biggest hurdle to great image quality.

But give this thread a read, look for some points/tips in the links provided throughout. Good luck.

Default Welcome to The BluWordOrder!!!

First off, hi and welcome!!!

Okay...now let me second the monoprice link you were give by the second poster. I have always known that monster cables were bs, but I never had ANY idea HOW MUCH QUALITY went into those monoprice cables.

Upon making your order, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from an actual person and then you will receive a shipping notification from someone else.

When you get your box, it will be a mish-mash thrown together (yet still sturdy) recycled box from something they weren't using anymore.

Inside will be the most beautifully packed and organized equipement EVER.

Your cables with be a little under a half inch in diameter with their solder joints terminated and protected under a thick barrel enclosure.

They are gold tipped and oxygen free and utterly rain the rage ( )all over your system...all for FOUR BUCKS!!!

Also...sorry...get a new TV when you can afford it.

Also ALSO...dude...which Blu-Rays did you buy man...c'mon...share the details!!!

Good luck and enjoy your new collection,

I think I read on another thread here that Monoprice would ship to some international locations, but with insane costs. Maybe it was just someone asking if they would.....

We ought to set up some sort of "Over the pond" assistance program for our blu brothers.

Or heck, I'm sure pinoy could make a profitable system for shipping overseas for people.

"Pinoys import/export bazar"

I think Canada is the only international destination, but I could be wrong. (OP) Calling to find out would be a good idea: (909)989-6887
