What the best sound I can get out of my receiver. - Blu-ray Forum

I have a really old receiver HK AVR 230 to be exact. I wanted to know whats the best way to utilized sounds to it. I have 2 Polk R50's R/L floor stand and Polk center CSI3. I'm very new to this and not sure to get the best out of my HK AVR 230. I know alot of will say to upgrade to AVR with HDMI connections but due to budget i can't afford at the moment. Any help will be appreciate it. thanks.

What player are you using? If you have a player with analog outs and your receiver has analog ins, that's most likely the best way to go. If you're using a PS3, you're pretty much stuck with just optical.
