When Final Fantasy XIII coming out? - Blu-ray Forum

Some said december of this year, and some claim not till next year; because the japanese version final fantasy xii advent children gonna had ffxiii demo, but that movie not out till march next year !

Don't expect the Japanese version until mid to fall 2009 imo, and as for the US/Euro version, it's anyone's guess, specially if they do shelve the PS3 localized version until the 360 is ready to roll out.
Xmas 2010 is a probable one, but god help us if they have troubles porting the game on 360 (2011).

Yup. its around 2009 for the Japanese release while the US and EU will be probably around later in the year or the next.

Are they going to hold back V.S. too? I thought this was supposed to launch alongside XIII.

No release date or time frame for vs XIII. For now it's still exclusive so hoepfully it won't get pushed back. Although I bet it will...

Demo will be out next March for Japan.....the US demo hasn't even been anounced so I doubt the game iwll be out for the US next year. Also MS making the deal where SE will essentially sit on the finished PS3 version (outside of Japan) until they are able to finish the X360 port. That makes no sense what so ever.....that is unless they were compensated a LOT.

Versus 13 is exclusive 100%, there was an interview with nomura saying how the programmers asked him recently if they should code the game for multi-platform or PS3, and he told them that the game is PS3 exclusive completely, and that he made sure of that with square. So Versus is PS3 only and is being coded as such.

FFXIII was being developed "with the PS3 architecture in mind" and look what happened. SE company heads reiterated many times that XIII was exclusive and that it "wasn't possible on the 360".

I'm not saying vs XIII WILL go multi-plat. I'm saying don't believe anything you hear anymore especially from SE (not that what they did was a "bad" thing. It was a smart business decision). Their word is worth very little at this point.
Just like with all companies, money talks even more so then words.

I think the Japanese version, at the earliest, will be summer of 2009.
But give them 4 months to localize it, and another 12 to make the 360 version (if they really decide to hold off as they have said), then we should see this in time for the holidays in 2010.

personally I am pre-ordering versus when it becomes available, it makes no sense to even purchase 13 in my opinion. Hopefully with enough attention on versus square will realize the mess they have gotten themselves into with the true fans of final fantasy.
