Weather patterns are really strange in my opinion. I mean Over here in Europe we never EVER have hurricanes or twisters or earthquakes.
A heavy rain is the worst that happens here and even those are quite rare |

![]() ![]() ![]() Luckily, I'm in South Florida, and we were drenched for 3 days - shocked that Fay is still right over central/northern Florida. And to Harley, we don't care about you either. Go boost up your post count elsewhere. |

I remember Hurricane Elena back in '85 because we were evacuated twice. First the storm headed to the NW panhandle causing the first evacuation. Next, it turned and went near Tampa, I believe and we were allowed to return. But then the storm reversed direction again and ended up brushing the Panhandle again eventually making landfall in Biloxi, MISS. Not the most damaging of storms that I've been in, but I remember how stressed out residents were since they had to 'weather' the same storm twice in a week. Fay is pretty unique in that it seems that it will affect the entire state before it is done and it is such a slow moving system giving it more time to do so much more damage.

I remember vacationing down on the beach when Andrew hit, good luck to you guys who are affected. Hopefully it wont turn into a mess.
Storms like this affect us all whether in humanity or in the pocketbook if it hits natural gas or oil rigs... |
