Default Hot Fuzz loudest Audio track ever?????

Hi everyone!

I just finished watching "Hot Fuzz" on BD, which blew me away with its INSANELY LOUD AUDIO!

I had thought the audio on "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns" was loud, but this one beats the c%^p out of both with ease!

My question: Is there any title on BD that's even louder than this?????

I personally cannot imagine it, because it seems like a sheer miracle that this one can be so darn loud without distorting.

Gosh, this movie's soundtrack is so loud, I had to turn down the volume two notches below reference level, and it was still louder than any other movie I own.

Thanks for the feedback, and please let me know your first experiences with this or other crazy audio titles!

Hot Fuzz was a blind buy for me. I got it during BF week.

That is not necessarily a good thing. In music business, there has been a loudness war which means they crank up the recording level so that it apears to sound better, but actually has lower soundquality due to a narrowed band.

But can't remember Hot fuzz had bad sound, and I always adjust the volume so that the neighbours won't get scared out of their pants Also on that note:I thought the sound on Fight club was real loud, the peaks there was just way out there compared to the rest.

I don't know about loud, but it's very well mixed. The bass is reference. Nice track.

Terminator salvation, now thats loud. About 5db too much.

I watched Hot Fuzz over 3 years ago and I do not remember if I thought it was "hot" or not, although many have commented that it is. Are you limiting your question to movies only? I have found that concert Blu's are usually 5-10dB hotter than the majority of movies. "Police Certifiable" is one that will knock your ears off if your AVR's volume control just happens to be sitting at the level of the last movies you watched. Then again, concerts do not have to mix to Reference Level where movies are suppose to, even though it seems a few miss that mark once in awhile.

Yeah.Remembered first time I was going to check out the BD,and at first I set my volume to high on a point at the start, and I skipped to that scene you are describing and it sounded like a bomb had exploded inside my room

It has very good sound, but wish the peaks weren't that pronounced.Anyone know if any amplifiers has a maxing out range which cuts the sound level at particularly high peaks?

Hmm, I have "Terminator Salvation", but it's not even close to Hot Fuzz, in terms of sheer loudness.

I am not saying this is a good thing, and it certainly doesn't make it sound better, but it definitely has punch, and if you want to blow your speakers, and your house or apartment building away, this one gets the job done.

I am sure my neighbors thought WWIII had started.

I have to agree this track is mixed very hot, but sounds great! I think it suits the film just fine and is one of my favorite soundtracks.

Of my recent purchases, Inception and Despicable Me seem to be a few clicks louder then the rest.

Also the remake of The Wolfman, very cool scene in the beginning of the movie when you can hear loud heavy breathing in the right front speaker and surround right.

Scott Pilgrim is crazy loud. The volume on my TV was at 12 and it was almost deafening, especially the opening credits.

Good advice.

Turn your volume to maximum possible and skip to the plane crash scene in Fight Club.
If your apartments windows dont crush and you dont loose your hearing temporarily I loose.

P.S. Dont do it. Its really risky.

I think the "volume" in the mix is actually part of the joke. The whole movie is an action spoof so I just always thought the bd's over the top mix was part of the joke lol! It always put a smile on my face, that's for sure
