I doubt the studios keep tabs on amazon alerts though.

I dunno...surely they have plenty of folks signed up for Star Wars I-III and IV-VI...

What gets me about these placeholders is that they're ostensibly to inform signees when the product is released, but I'm still awaiting Amazon's official word on release for multiple BDs I've since bought from them.

It's still nice to see someone is considering putting it out on BD. Does Amazon hear something from the studios, then puts out alert options or, do they just put out aribitary alerts to get people excited?

When a certain number of people search for something it flags a place holder.
That's it.
Nothing to do with studios or news or even rumor.
Means absolutely nothing.

I think you'd have a better chance of contacting the studios that release the movies and BD's then you would with Amazon.
