So when will we get the real one?

The UK and Australia already got it on DVD and Blu-ray.

The US has a special edition DVD.

So we already got the "real" one which compared to the live-action movies is better but not by much.

I'm talking a decent Blu Ray release in America. I heard the Australian version isn't that good.

As far as I know neither the UK nor Aussie release is perfect, and although the UK release is supposed to be better, it's OOP anyway. Shout! Factory has recently handled Transformers and G. I. Joe on DVD and also released the G. I. Joe movie on BD, so maybe they can release the Transformers movie on BD. I really hope it gets released here soon, 'cause it's a terrific animated movie. The series while good has been built up to be better than it is largely in thanks to nostalgia, but the movie is genuinely great.

Yeah the movie still holds up to this day!

I've got the Australian blu-ray release of this, it's quality absolutely destroys the special edition DVD. To be honest it's a pretty good release as far as I'm concerned, and if u like extra features it has more than the U.K version.

I am a big Transformers fan and I have the UK blu of the 86 movie if its ever released in the USA I will buy it again. Also I dont get all the hate for the live action films. I like them very much(well part 2 wasnt all that good) again I know they made changes but I am not one of those fans who cant get over change and nitpick every little thing. Anyway we are overdue for a release of the 86 movie and the original series on blu.
