I say gift giving to keep it simple.
I normally buy games when they come out, does anyone wait for someone to give it to them? I think this year I might tell people what games I want and see what happens. ![]() |

I guess I don't have anyone to actually give me something so I don't wait any special time of the year, I indulge myself whenever I want provided my budget allows it and since no one give me, I can spare the money of having to give

Yes, I waited until gift giving time................when I was a little kid.
These days I just buy my own games. Of course I wouldn't mind when it comes to adult diapers, socks & more socks. ![]() |

I usually do both. If there is a killer game (or blu-ray movie for that matter) that I must have now, I will just go buy it. If it is an interesting looking game or movie, but one I could wait on, I tell people (my wife) to buy it for me for the next gift giving holiday. For example, I will go buy Resistance 2, SIlent Hill, and SOCOM all on release day, but I am telling my wife I want games like Little Big Planet, Bioshock, Far Cry 2, etc. so that she will buy them for me as gifts. That way I get far more games, I pay for the ones I really want, and get the ones I want but am not willing to pay for as gifts.

My wife is always complaining that I get video games whenever I want and because of that she can never get me one as a gift.
I say, "Video Games as Gifts SUCK!!!" My reasoning for this is because 1) usually you don't get the game you want and 2) if you do get the game you want you're getting it 5 months late (like I did with COD4) so when you jump online you're getting owned because everyone else has had 5 months to get good. I say, buy the games you want when they come out and ask for giftcards to GameStop for holidays and birthdays. -papaholmz |

For the most part, I buy my games. If its something huge like GTA4 or MGS4, I buy it the first day/week regardless of anything else. Otherwise if Ive already got 1-2 games on the go, ill just wait. If a birthday/christmas happen to be close, then ill wait even more and just ask for those.
But all my family members know to get exactly what the other person wants, so ive never had a problem getting a crap game. But yeah, mostly I buy my own. |
