Ice Cube is so far removed from the basics now that anything he does that sound "real" is just acting. Dude has been in more kiddie movies than he has spent days in the "hood"

When ice cube raps His rhymes are amazing Theyve got meaning and a feel to them

Unlike this hip-pop thats on the radio these days where its basicly the same song over and over again, and all the Hip-pop artists are all doing Duets with eachother, it gets rather anoying and all they can talk about is sex in the club or shawtys got a nice ass or Dude has lots of bling, Whoopie. In this cd cubes main focous in his lyrics are on how gangsta rap gets blammed for alot of the worlds problems

Because I am a fan of Oakland and West Coast rap and Hip Hop.

I used to listen to Ice Cube until after Lethal Injection. If this guy wants to call it "real hip hop" I would like to know if he means War and Peace (IMO not real) or Predator (IMO real). Ice Cube has a knack for making garbage like Bow Down and War and Peace that have nothing to do with "real." Is it "real" like Mac Dre, Threat, Keak or Zion I??

Rap and Hip Hop is a HUGE genre, and if you are going to make a recommendation and call something "real" at least explain what it is like. Would you expect someone to come in and say "this movie is finally a real movie" and not explain?

I just meant he cant rap like he used to in NWA and Predator because he lives a different life. He can do amazing commentary on how rap is treated like you said.

There is no doubt that with NWA he was the strongest guy, even over Eazy and Ren (Dre was a producer and hardly ever did anything else)... There were a few tracks that he made that stand out as some of the best rap ever... in fact "War and Peace" might have been the fakest rap/hip hop I have ever heard, but it was GOOD. I still listen to a lot of the tracks.


I cant agree with you more on guys like diddy and MA$E who infected the genre with garbage that wont die. Those kind of guys came close to ruining the whole thing.
