Blu-Ray Download - Blu-ray Forum

Hello All,

I have an Inspiron 1720 Dell laptop, with a blu-ray player/burner. When I first got the laptop in Oct, 07. I was able to play blu-rays, etc. Now, I get a message that says update required. I click that button and it says 'no updates available', lol. So, I came here.. can anyone tell me what update I need for my player on my laptop? Thanks in advance and I appreciate all help,

You should just buy the full version of wither Windvd 9, Powerdvd 8, or Arcsoft totalMedia theater. Usually the version that comes installed with your computer is a very basic version and won't play most of the newer movies.

Don't feel like you are alone friend!
The WinDVD BD for VAIO that came on my AR190 just sits there on some of the newer BDs - doesn't do anything!

PowerDVD 8 Ultra plays any disc.
AcrSoft TMT plays anything - including "files" and "folders".

ArcSoft TMT is now my default BD player.
