Give your reaction of the version you saw and a comparison if you saw both.

Didn't see this posted anywhere, thought it was interesting. Of course it's going to be shown in IMAX but 28 minutes were actually filmed in IMAX

This must have been posted somewhere on here before...but yeah, definitely should be brought to everyone's attention again anyway.
Can't wait to see this one in IMAX, probably will wait until the Sunday after opening though so I don't have to deal with a packed house. |

The announcement about the shifting aspect ratios of TDK when it comes to BD has got me worried now about seeing it in IMAX in the first place. I'm not exactly an IMAX expert, but it seems that every "IMAX" movie I've seen has been shot for that format and doesn't change ratios while you watch. Now, granted, my list of films I've seen has been small (almost exclusively animated and/or documentaries) but it seems to me like it would be annoying in the extreme if while I'm watching a movie it keeps shifting ratios back and forth.
Am I being stupid here or what? If I go see TDK in IMAX will it *really* shift, or is this just something that will happen when it comes to BD? |

Sorry for posting here: How much of "Dark Knight" is true IMAX-quality? (I read somewhere that the conversational scenes are regular sized)

Scope movies on IMAX are letterboxed, all that will happen is the movie will expand to fill the screen.
Multiple ARs isn't unprecidented. Galaxy Quest theatrically starts at 1.85:1 and when the cargo bay doors open, the curtains pull back. It was quite spectacular Be Forever Yamato did something similar. Use of scope in Japanese animation is rare because it costs more (have to draw more picture) and they generally like their frame height. The movie starts out 1.66:1 and 2/3 of the way in, when they enter another galaxy the curtains pull back and the AR goes to scope. |

i'll most likely see it in the nice stadium seating theater... Watching it in IMAX will be a spectacle, but I don't like the assigned seating.... If I really really like it, I'll go see it in IMAX a few weeks later when the crowds have died down...

Well, I respect your opinion and everything but I really think you should reconsider this. Look at the reviews alone.. this isnt even a Batman movie but more a movie about society and fear mongering. Just read the reviews... to each his own.
