Kingdom Hearts A PS3 Exclusive, Will Be Seen At TGS

Tagline above says rumour, but really, we'd be surprised if either of these things didn't take place. The latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine (not sure whether it's the British or Australian edition) is making its way to letterboxes, and in the mag's rumour section is the following: "Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development as a PS3 exclusive and will be announced at TGS". Seeing as Kingdom Hearts I & 2 were PS2 exclusive, that's hardly a stretch. And with Kingdom Hearts II being nearly three years old, we're well overdue for a third game. Stay tuned, TGS kicks off in just over a month.

I posted this in the Interesting Rumors thread, but, thought it deserved its own...quite huge, IMO...

whenever PS3 lands a huge name exclusive its big time news, even if all the previous versions have been exclusive (see ace combat serires

)

i have been looking forward to this game for awhile, but my guess is we are still looking at end of 2009 mid 2010 at best. good to hear its coming to PS3, but im not getting my heart rate up too much.

not that its that big of a deal, we certainly have enough great games to tide us over for awhile

As much as I'd love to believe this, after the XIII bomb, I'll I wont believe it until it comes out on release day with no announcment of a 360 version.

I would've preferred to get SO4, but that seems to be 360 exclusive...

Considering the first two were exclusives, it isn't a big surprise that the third would also be an exclusive. However, considering that there are two other KH games coming out before the third, I'd say there is a very long time before any real consideration to KH3 being exclusive or not.

I'm betting timed on that one. MaxPower said the contract was 6 or months, and let's face it, it's gonna tank the franchise in Japan if it doesn't come to PS3.

I am a huge KH fan, and enjoyed the first two games on PS2. I will certainly welcome this game with open arms.

If it is PS3 exclusive, that is fine with me. Though, I do own all 3 systems, so I will buy it for whatever system it comes out for.

But as others have said, after what happened with FF XIII, don't hold your breath on PS3 exclusivity just yet.

But, if nothing else, I do at the very least hope that it does come out on PS3, and that it takes full advantage of the power and disc capacity of a Blu-Ray disc. Even if the game ends up coming out on 360 as well, I just hope that it doesn't inhibit the PS3 version.

I just want the game to play and look as awesome as possible, while being extremely huge and elaborate.

I love KH and this one will kickass, Crapbox 460 doesnt deserve this title and neither does that system for 8 year olds either.

PS3 Exclusive is a MUST!!!

Its actually 2 great games, its a mix between Final Fantasy and Disney

The Kingdom Hearts series are Action games with some RPG elements that contain characters and worlds from both Disney movies and the Final Fantasy genre as well as its own original characters. Both the Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 were hailed as 2 of the better games for the PS2.

Personally, I was never into Final Fantasy or Disney (I like some of the Pixar movies but that is about it). However, I found both games to be very enjoyable because of the gameplay.
They are recommended for at least a try. (and a bargin, since you can now probably find both games for under $19.99 since they made the greatest hits list.)

I wasn't fond of the first one very much...the worlds were ugly and too small...but, the second one was quite enjoyable.

I felt that that the worlds were too blocky and the paths were too restrictive...but, I have been a computer player for a while, so naturally, a lot of console games have been like that for me...

I get the feeling if Microsoft had wanted this title it would also be on the Xbox 360. It simply doesn't jive that well with the average Xbox 360 owner (young male hardcore gamer who prefers first person shooters). Unfortunately Microsoft has enough cash to get whatever title they want on their system. The key titles this generation so far have been the new Grand Theft Auto and obviously FFXIII and Microsoft got both of them to go neutral. Any game that fits the Microsoft demographic will be on both platforms sadly.
