United Kingdom 3 Films to see before you go blind

bit of fun this one...

Got laser eye surgery on Friday and there's apparantly a 0.5% chance it can go wrong enough to lose my sight. In which case I'd like to use it as an excuse to fit in a movie marathon on Thursday. What triple bill would you guys recommend if it were the last 3 films you would ever see?

1. Avatar for the pure visual orgasm the blu-ray offers.

2. Shawshank Redemption - one of the greatest movies ever made

3. The Matrix -

I'd rather actually go blind than be forced to watch those 3 films

I think if you watch Speed Racer, there is a 0.5% chance that you could go blind.

I would say Avatar, Star Wars and Akira. I think if there was a risk of you losing your sight, you'd want to make the most of it by watching three films that are visually amazing.

What would be a more depressing thread - this one or "3 Films to see before you die or are executed"?

Although these are my favorites and not necessarily the all-time best ever (well, they are up there), I think it would be nice to be left with some positive imagery such as:

1. Kiki's Delivery Service
2. Amelie
3. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

[QUOTE=toddly6666;5535198]What would be a more depressing thread - this one or "3 Films to see before you die or are executed"?

Hardly, there have been countless books and even a channel 4 doc on films to see before you die - which are a celebration of films rather than anything to do with death.

Perhaps one or two people take these boards too seriously, especially the self imposed thread policeman who I won't bother naming.

Kinoeye - Loving it!

I think I read the thread title wrong, I thought it was three films that will make you go blind....

Scent of A Woman. "Hoo-Haa!"

I was going to show the clip from Luis Buñuel's Un Chien Andalou but I don't want to freak everyone out....

diving bell and the butterfly
ray
million dollar baby

i haven't even seen the first two but i would think they'd be good for the future rather than watching some brainless visual fest, plus, the images you'll remember most won't be some blue aliens, transforming robots or epic battles. in fact, they wouldn't even make you appreciate your sight, so despite me cutting the levity of the thread, i'd say go for movies that have a higher possibility of making an impact if one were to have an unfortunate risk be foretold.
