I've had an IMDB account for years and I like to rate movies that I watch out of 10 (not 5), but only recently have I started putting my movie ratings on here, too. This is a pretty new feature to the site; you click the stars/user rating to submit your own rating. I like it because I usually can't be bothered to write a full review and to review the PQ/AQ for a movie, but I like to consider the qualities of each movie that I watch and classify it as "decent" (5) or "good" (6) or "great" (8) and so forth. I've decided that I will almost assuredly be selling any movie in my collection that I watch that's a 5/10 or worse, and I'm starting to whittle down my collection and blind-buys a bit.
After sixteen ratings, I find that most movies on this site are rated an 8.something and that almost all of my personal ratings are "in the red," meaning that my rating is usually lower than each film's average. So far my ratings average to about a 6/10, which sounds about right. Who knows, maybe the only people who make use of this feature on the site are the fans to come to rate _____ a 10/10. What about you? Do you rate films on this site/on IMDB/at all? |
