Dude, they forgot Matt Stone's mullet in 'Orgazmo', one of the best ever. Also, Danny McBride's mullet in 'Tropic Thunder' is a pretty ghey "now showing in theaters" mullet.

A mullet is a type of sea fish if I am not mistaken. Am I missing something here ?

You are, indeed.

Maybe lost in the translation. Read the link, it should clear things up. Good times.

Since when was long hair a mullet? Lame list. 2/3 of those were just long hair. Granted just as silly looking (not quite), but still long hair. Kiefer Sutherlands was probably the worst mullet of them all. Even though its fake ill cast a vote for Joe Dirt.

Yeah, I have to say I coulda put together a better top ten (and I would have included a token woman on the list), but they did get the three mullet kings in there: Mel Gibson, Patrick Swayze, and Kurt Russel.

This is not bad, but come on, they left off The Boz?? That's just not right. A defining cinematic mullet if there ever was one. Granted I just watched this again last week, so it's fresh in my mind, but it's Top 10, easy.

But do you know where the name "Mullet" came from?

"The term for the hairstyle is newer than the style. The Beastie Boys Grand Royal Magazine 1995 issue contained a piece on the mullet. The Oxford English Dictionary cites this as the first published use of the term, along with the lyrics from the Beastie Boys' 1994 song Mullet Head. The OED says that the term was apparently coined, and certainly popularized, by U.S. hip-hop group the Beastie Boys.[1][2] The name could have come from a scene from the film Cool Hand Luke in which the term was used to ridicule a prisoner for his low intellect. [3]"

Great article:

Default Jasonbird Thank you

Oh man.....I have tears running down my face...LOL

Who writes this stuff....Freakin hilarious..

The Lost Boys is cinematic caviar for mullet lovers. Everyone in this flick owned a Camaro crash helmet. Yet none illustrated business in the front and a party in the back as much as Kiefer Sutherland's coif. This thing looked hazardous, like a buzz saw attached to a chain. Perfect for a villain because nothing gives off a sense of danger like a mean mullet - especially if it's on top of Jack Bauer's head
