UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- James Silva and his CIA unit embark on a 22-mile gauntlet under deadly circumstances in Mile 22, arriving on Digital on October 30, 2018 and on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand on November 13, 2018 from STXfilms and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. From acclaimed director Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon) Mile 22 stars an outstanding cast including led by Mark Wahlberg (Deepwater Horizon) along with Lauren Cohan ("The Walking Dead"), Iko Uwais (The Raid), Ronda Rousey (Fast & Furious 7) and John Malkovich (Red).

In a visceral modern thriller from the director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg plays James Silva, an operative of the CIA's most highly-prized and little-known unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must transport an asset (Uwais) who has vital information to an airfield for extraction before the enemy closes in. "Loaded with edge-of-your-seat action" (Steve Weintraub, Collider), Mile 22 is the perfect film for fans of fast-paced combat cinema.

Deemed as "Mark Wahlberg's best action movie to date" (Jack Giroux, Film), Mile 22 is filled with non-stop action and intense stunts. The film on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital comes packed with exciting bonus features including a behind-the-scenes look at stunts with actor and stunt choreographer Iko Uwais, a special featurette on the fearless female actresses and more that take audiences deeper into the adrenaline-filled story.

Only Aus seem to be getting a 4K UHD. Wonder why they are not releasing a 4K in America or the U.K?

I thought this was okay but I sold it. One watcher. It honestly felt like a TV series pilot. 6/10

2 stars. I was going to give it 2 1/2, but took off another half star for all the annoying close up shots of Mark Wahlberg snapping the rubber band on his wrist.

It's a shame bc I was really looking forward to this after seeing the trailers.

I'd argue this and The Girl in the Spider's Web are easily the two worst movies i've seen this year.

This being worse than the latter because at least no one was insufferably annoying in Spider's Web like Marky Mark's character...but on the other hand, I really enjoyed Lauren Cohan's arc (sans her insulting anti-climax fate) and she would've been a far better choice for Lisbeth Salander than the horribly miscast Claire Foy.

EDIT: Oh yeah, almost forgot about Slender Man...but honestly the version Sony crapped out into theaters and home video is incomplete, so its hard for me to rate an incomplete movie that isn't The Snowman, but as is, its pretty bad.

It really is too bad. With lead characters being relatively similar, The Accountant is a far better movie.

I’m actually surprised Peter Berg put this out, he’s been on a hot streak and Deepwater Horizon was amazing, I think Lone Survivor was a bit stronger but it could go either way. Peter Berg can actually direct Mark Wahlberg pretty well.

Mile 22 is one of the worst films of 2018.

I actually enjoyed Girl in the Spider's Web, though. I'll take that over this any day of the week!

I hated the trailers for this, I've come to loathe Whalberg, and the last Berg film I liked was The Kingdom, and yet...I friggin' dug the hell outta this flick!

I just watched it a few nights ago and wasn't sure what I thought at first, but after some time to stew and a rewatch, I think this movie is the gonzo four-way love child of Tony Scott, Michael Mann, David Mamet and Paul Greengrass. It's over the top, it's ridiculous, it's edited to hell, and it has a weak second act, but it also has this badass verite style to it that feels like the work of a true auteur. This is peak "Bergs," a genre unto itself.

It feels like Berg had 2.5 hours worth of movie but decided to cram it all into 90 minutes at the last minute. Usually I hate that, but in the case of Mile 22, it's brilliant. Whalberg hasn't chewed scenery like this ever before, and that's really saying something. Berg has never been more amped up and in control than he is here. The freeze-frames, surveillance footage and shaky-cam feels utterly perfected here. Even though the editing is quick, it feels good and has a cool rhythm to it. The f-bomb-filled soliloquies spouted by our leads have never felt more over-the-top, yet they fit these characters perfectly and I wouldn't want it any other way.

None of this means anything though if it weren't for the third act of this movie, which is so amazingly, violently non-stop and increasingly ridiculous that it has to be seen to be believed. It's not high-art but it's doing what it's doing very well and was just a badass little flick that Tony Scott might've made were he still with us.

SOLID B+

This was dreadful. I don't know what was worse...the editing, Mark Wahlberg's hilarious, rubber band-snapping performance or John Malkovich's hair.

Yikes reviewer no likey Mile 22. I enjoyed it for what it was. I mean, you kinda know what you are getting with Peter Berg/Mark Wahlberg. Sure it's not quite up there with their other collaborations, but you're not expecting high art here. I will say the extras are highly dissapointing. You see all the bullet points on the back of the case for the bonus features & go to watch them & they are all less than 2 minutes each. Gosh darn it just put them all together for a short making of documentary at least.

"say hello to your mother"....that was great

Agree on Malkovich's hair....terrible! Why does he need to have hair in this movie...really.
