I was trying to partition the external WD 500gig HD last night, and I went into the Disk Management thing through the Start/Run thing, and I right clicked on the G drive and it didn't have the "create partition" so I clicked "DELETE PARTITION" figured I had to delete it and then format and start over.
But it just vanished from my system. Now even though I've rebooted a few times, and plugged the HD into different USB ports, it won't show up. It'll make the noise that the USB devices make when first plugged in, but it won't show up in my MY COMPUTER or the diskmanagement thing. There HAS to be a way to bring this back. oh and the thing that makes me feel stupidest (not a word I know)? The HD ORIGINALLY (I believe) was Fat32 because I remember formatting it so it could handle files bigger than 4gig. So I wonder if there's a way to revert it back to fat32 without the partitions. That is if I can get it to show up again. |
