Default Journey toward the darkside because of hatred for Warner Brothers

Warner Brothers recently announced specs for Kit Kittridge: An American Girl. Audio specs were plain old Dolby Digital people could get by buying the DVD. Warner has to get it through there heads that just having a 1080p picture is not going to cut it. Albiet Kit Kittridge even with the absolute best Dolby True HD will probably sound not a whole lot better than a plain Dolby Digital track but that is not the bloody point! The point is they should release everything with a lossless track. Onto a movie that deserves Dolby True HD and is getting a standard Dolby Digital track Speed Racer.

Warner for my money continues to show the least support for Blu Ray. Yes I would say Universal and Paramount has shown Blu Ray more support. All Univeral releases have had DTS MA tracks, hell even Heroes Season one and two had DTS MA tracks. Same goes for Paramout since they have started releasing Blu Ray movies again all of there release have had lossless audio on them, Top Gun even had a Dolby True HD track and a DTS MA track on it.

I am getting sick of Warner releasing Blu Ray's in plain Dolby Digital. Giving us 1080p video is only half of the equation.

Warner has always been the "cheap" studio. I do agree that HD is more than 1080P.

Write them a letter and be sarcastic. Say something like, " I support your movies and the blu-ray disc and enjoyed what you did with them by adding Dolby Digital. Can you do all of us (blu-ray supporters) a favor and be cheaper than what you are now?

You can be sarcastic when you're writing a post in a forum or an article.

But when you're writing to them directly, be direct. Show them your past support of WB and then tell them why you won't support them if they go lossy only.

And yes, for the time being Warner sucks.

They won't screw up The Dark Knight. You know why? Because the fans will track them down like bounty hunters and feed them their own intestines.

Like i said before if they we're smart they'd release the regular one with
5.1 dolby truehd for $29.99, and release a second limited one with 7.1 pcm
and a .99 toy for $49.99 and make a killing

You see. Thats one of the main reasons why I don't buy movies anymore. Its because they f*ck people over the first time and then do the reach-around with their next version.

does a movie like this really need to have the best audio possible. it's not like it's going to be that much of a difference. i say pick your battles.

You are right. Possibly the largest release to hit Blu-Ray should have a subpar audio track.

As long as it is lossless, I don't care. Even if it is sonically the same as the DD track, which it won't be, it still needs to be there. If they cut this corner, what is next?

I've also had the notion that WB were (and probably still are) bitter over the format war. They probably think the vast majority of us can't tell the difference. WELL, WE CAN, WE WE'RE NOT IDIOTS AND WE SHOULD ALL REVOLT! Let's all boycott the Dark Knight when it comes out to prove our point! (Ummm....maybe not)

Same here, man! Since The Dark Knight is Warner's cash-cow of the year, there's no possible way they can screw it up, especially when it comes to the AQ and PQ.
