Box art is garbage like all other collections' box art. Games are top notch though, so will buy for sure.

With three games they can't do a one-game-each-side reversible cover like the EU ICO/SotC collection. They could do something with less logos at least.

I want. Snake Eater in HD? There's no way I'm not getting.

And what's this I hear about Silent Hill 2 in HD coming only to PS3 this fall?

Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2 are like the best of their respective franchise. And to have both release in HD? That's a dream.

For sure it should be a contender!

I just played these for the first time this gen from the PS2 collector's set. Easily one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had! Unfortunately, I won't be double dipping with this one. The HD masters that I have seen in person have been incredible though - expect something great!

Personally, I thought the box was pretty cool.
I'm a little dissapointed with the graphics too, but i think thats because MGS have always had mind blowing graphics and when they announced this I was picturing MGS4 visuals.

Instant buy though.

Huh?
Uh, just a box.

Why do people expect new graphics, it's just higher resolution in these HD collections.

Look at the God of War one, people never ***** about them with it released.

Things I wonder:

- Will MGS2 have a user-controllable camera (a la Snake Eater -> Subsistence)?

- How will Peace Walker's visuals really hold up (although I'm sure the controls will be much more fun)?

- Will controls in MGS2 and MGS3 be customize-able / more like those in MGS4?

+2. not sure why people would be dissapointed/surprised by the graphics. Its only a re-release of the same game just in HD res, not a remake. re-releasing in HD doesnt somehow magically increase the characters polygon count or increase lighting effects ect.

I'm excited just to be adding these to my PS3 collection although I still have the PS2 versions I will be buying these day one. I think it's great that they are releasing the PS2 HD versions for those without a backwards compatibility PS3 to play on their PS3.

eh, I don't know about that But, it does have one of the best ending scenes I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing
[Show spoiler](the montage where Snake walks to Boss' grave and Eva is narrating).

Silent Hill 2 and 3 are an exclusive collection coming to the PS3. I believe the Zone of Enders and Metal Gear are still coming to the 360.

I have no idea why they don't include MGS or the first Silent Hill in the collections. I get that they're both on the PSN and that they'd need a lot more tlc to get playing in hi-def but there was already a PC port of MGS as well as Twin Snakes which I'm sure neither would take much to get spiffed up for HD. At least throw people a PSN voucher for a free download to complete the collections (even though I already have both).

Not sure what you mean by the "Existence camera fix" since Existence was just a dvd of all the cutscenes included with LE versions of the original Snake Eater. Maybe you mean the Subsistence camera fix?

From what I've read 2 will be the Substance version and 3 will be the Subsistence version. Would be great if they included Metal Gear Saga 1/2 and Existence but I'm not holding my breath.
