Default Not another Spiderman Thread

According to Movieweb.com, Sam Rami, Tobey Maguire, and almost certainly Kirstin Dunst will be back for Spiderman 4, and most likely Spiderman 5.

I know some people will be dissappointed with this news.

Yep. Here we go again. IMO, Spiderman is weak. Superman is the real superhero.

The franchise is simply too successful to not do more sequels with the same set of actors. I just hope they get a better script than the one they used for Spider-man 3.

Dam! I was really hoping they would start fresh with the casting and director. I've never thought of Tobey as the right choice as Spiderman. What's worse is Kirsten Dunrst.

sounds like the article confirms the villan must be the lizard. the only other character we already know who would be playing the role is if they bring sand man back.

Well they have to stay consistent. I would rather them have the same cast then re-cast for an imminent sequel. Cast changes don't flow for me most of the times. For example, I liked Thomas Jane as the Punisher. But the only thing I really don't like about Toby is his p***y voice.

Rumor or not, I hope they get the main actors back...as well as JK Simmons, he plays J Jonah Jameson to a T and IMO is irreplaceble.

I will be excited if this turns out to be true.

at least they're not making it darker... yet... when they use Carnage (hopefully for the last one) they can make it dark. Involve Capt. Stacey more as well since he's a cop and Carnage is the symbiote on a serial killer.

Honestly I don't think they'll use Carnage at all. I think they'll stay with the older classic villains for now.

Could be debated.

Personally I find someone that can be killed by traditional means more of a superhero than someone who can only be negatively affected by glowing bits of rock from their home planet.

Agreed. Of course to each his own, but I find Peter Parker/Spider-man a much better read than Superman.

I agree. I really enjoyed Spider Man. Spider Man 2 was even better--an excellent film I think. Spider Man 3, while entertaining in parts, lacked as a whole, and Peter was more annoying than anything. I'm sure that was the point, but it wasn't even enjoyable to watch, imo. And how many times can he save people falling from buildings while the crowd from below looks and 'ooss' and 'aaaahs' and claps? I'm glad Harry won't be back though; that entire 'revenge my father's death' thing was starting to overstay its welcome after two films of him being in revenge mode lol. That being said, I hardly think Spider Man 3 was a bad film. It was pretty entertaining, but it just lacked compared to the first two, which is why I hope 4 is much better.

spiderman 3 the whole thing with him getting the weird hair cut and dancing around was kinda dumb and the ending fight scene wasnt much to look at either......

At this point I'm indifferent to Spiderman. I liked Spiderman 3 in the theater, but I bought the Blu-ray set and upon watching the third for a second time found it kind of hard to sit through. Compared to the first two the character development is sloppy and the whole thing feels rushed, but drags at the same time. I really would like to see them recast Mary Jane. Kirsten Dunst just doesn't do it for me, both looks wise and in her portrayal of MJ. I hope if they do make a fourth and fifth film they'll keep it more along the lines of Spiderman 2, which was IMO the best of the three by far.

I too am somewhat on the indifferant side, however, I hate seeing three movies with one cast to be continued with more movies with differant cast members, so I can say that I am happy that they seem to be on the track to the originals returning
