So excited this great western is finally coming to Blu-ray! Charlton Heston always stated that he thought this was his best movie.

Hollywood legend Charlton Heston (Secret of the Incas, The Big Country, Ben-Hur) stars as Will Penny, an aging cowboy on a hard-luck streak. He’s out of work, out of money, and staked out to die in the desert by a gang of ruthless outlaws. Moments before death, Will is taken in by the beautiful Catherine (Joan Hackett, Support Your Local Sheriff), who is heading west with her young son to join her husband. As Catherine nurses Will back to health, he catches a glimpse of a lifestyle he’s never known. Suddenly, Will has two more problems to deal with: he’s in love with another man’s wife, and the outlaw gang is on its way back to finish him off. Heston’s favorite film in which he appeared, the elegiac Will Penny was written and directed by Tom Gries (100 Rifles, Breakout, Breakheart Pass), shot by Lucien Ballard (The Wild Bunch), and finely cast with Donald Pleasence, Bruce Dern, Ben Johnson, Slim Pickens, Clifton James, Anthony Zerbe, Jon Gries and Lee Majors.

This looks and sounds great. The Sierra Nevadas look glorious. Excellent job from Paramount and Kino.

Terrific movie. Glad I picked up. The Blu-Ray is terrific as well. Would I like a 4K for HDR? Sure but this looks so good I can’t complain.

It will be available at that price again. But with Prime and a $4.31 CC points, got it down to $10 shipped. Dont have to deal with KL's S/H (unless placing an order for $50 min)

While it's nice to shave off a few extra $ whenever you can, what you forked over for this was still so very well worth it.

Re-found out about Kino's Blu-ray release of Will Penny this week. I had looked at it before but forgot about it. Adding it to my Kino titles want list (one of three westerns I'll hopefully get at some point).
